Tamara is a Bangladeshi-Australian who spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia. Her favourite authors as a child were Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton and Charles Dickens. These authors gave her many heroes to look up to, Matilda being her favourite. Tamara loved her multicultural upbringing but didn’t always find it easy to embrace her Muslim identity. Reading about Islam’s rich history and its great heroes surely helped. She wanted to write this book because she wants to inspire children and adults alike to be proud of their Muslim identity. Sir James Matthew Barrie was a Scottish author. He was born on May 9, 1860, in Angus, Scotland. Barrie is most famous as the creator of Peter Pan, a free-spirited young boy who refuses to grow up. His notable works include The Little Minister (1891), Jess (1898) and The Little White Bird (1902). Most of his early works are marked by the Scottish dialect, humour and sentimentality. Barrie also wrote plays even though they were rejected by critics. However, he finally gained success with Quality Street (1901), a four-part comedy and The Admirable Crichon (1902). But Barrie s fame rested with his novel Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn t Grow Up (1904). Barrie was made a baronet by King George V in 1913. He died on June 19, 1937, in London, England.
